Part 1 If a friend or family member does not know about race as a social construct, I would tell them that race is a concept society uses for different people based on physical attributes like skin color, hair texture, common ancestry, etc., and cultural and moral attributes (Tanya Golash-Boza, 2022). The concept of attributing Africans as black, Europeans as white, Asians as yellow and Native Indians as red was started by European scientists as Europe had predominantly white people whereas all the other continents had mixed people of all colors (Tanya Golash-Boza, 2022).
